Project Portfolio
- Prior to working as an independent consultant, Drew served as vice president, Communications & Client Services, for a national niche financial services firm. His role there was created after he invested four years as a consultant to the company. They remain a client today, after his departure from full-time employment with the company in July 2003 and from a half-time role with the company in July 2005.
- In his role as a writer, Drew is especially proud to have nabbed significant voices to speak about the AIDS crisis through feature articles. He has interviewed Coretta Scott King, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Richard Gephardt, Howard Dean, Dolly Parton, Patti LaBelle Tony-award winner Christine Ebersole, Andrew Tobias, Clinton AIDS Czar Sandra Thurman, Dr. Helene Gayle, AIDS activist Mary Fisher, gossip doyenne Liz Smith and others.
- Designed and executed a grassroots media and appearance tour for a first-time author, taking that author and his memoir through a fourth printing, which is virtually unprecedented for a gay niche title. He recently assisted that now-established author with promotions for his second book.
- Introduced a new financial services niche to potential partners and clients, from consumers to professionals including attorneys, accountants, financial planners and others.
- Led the strategic shift of that established niche financial services firm from a business-to-consumer to a business-to-business focus.
- Created highly targeted communications strategy and tactical plans to help reach niche audiences, including gays and lesbians, people infected with HIV/AIDS, people affected by HIV/AIDS, citizens opposed to marriage equality (aka “gay marriage”) and more.
- Used strategic writings and other media communications tools to place both broad and extremely targeted messages and brands before a wide variety of audiences. Drew’s success in this area comes through his ability to help people and their brands (be they personal or corporate) find their authentic voices – and their audience.
